Boscombe Art Fair debuted Israeli artist Diablo’s collaboration with Russian war photographer Denis Sinyakov and Russian activist punk band Pussy riot.
The picture is part of a series called “Buy me and stop one,” which is based around the image of an ice cream van. The picture shown at Boscombe Art fair is based around Putin, and while looking for inspiration the artist came across a picture of the punk band Pussy Riot, standing on the wall outside the Moscow Kremlin. The band has been in the news since openly protesting against Vladimir Putin. The artist contacted the photographer, who happened to know the band, and they decided to collaborate. The picture was presented at the fair by local artist Bob Cosford, a representative from the online gallery eyedreampictures.co.uk.
The Art Fair also featured local artist from all different genres, including oil painting, acrylic prints and photography.
The art fair was started by Keirone Capstack of Frog Bros Comics and Tristan Ward of Flux Art supplies to give local artist a chance to show of their work and create awareness of the local talent. “Our goal was to get more attention to this wonderful arcade, and what a better way than to show of the local art,” Tristan said. “Even though the weather is bad today, we’re hoping for a better turn out next month,” he said.
The Art Fair takes place on the last Sunday of every month.
