A third year Phd Bournemouth University student Aishah Selamat from the Creative Technology Department has won the Institute of Directors (IoD) Student of the Year Award 2018.

The IoD is the UK’s longest-running organization for professional and business leaders; and the award  recognises students who have shown unique director qualities in a project they have worked on in a business, employment or academic capacity.

The students have to have either founded a start-up, being successfully running their own business or be in the early stages of starting a business.

Aishah pitched to a panel of judges at IoD’s main office in London during the summer and impressed the judges with her project, DataDenizens.com, along with her involvement in other projects and businesses.

The judges praised Aishah for having a  detailed knowledge of her target market and the opportunities for growth. Winning the award means Aishah is recognised alongside business leaders across the country.

Congratulations Aishah Selamat.
