Maheen is a Gryffindor, majoring in the Defence against the Dark Arts. Her wand is made out of unicorn hair, and she a Chaser on the Quidditch team.
On a side note, she studied Criminology, Psychology and Film at the University of Toronto from 2006-2010. Before that, she spent her time between Pakistan and Canada.
She is currently studying MA in Multimedia Journalism at Bournemouth University.
She has a particular interest in experimental filmmaking as well as "modern vintage" style photography (and clothing!)... and magical creatures.
EU bans Iran oil imports
The European Union has agreed to place an embargo on Iran's oil exports as a result of Tehran’s suspect nuclear programme.
The decision was reached early Monday morning after ambassadors from the 27 EU nations met in Brussels. The ministers are to formally announce the measures against Tehran later Monday.
Bournemouth tackles youth unemployment
Bournemouth Council is organising apprenticeship schemes to tackle youth unemployment.
In a recent council meeting, Councillor Barry Goldbart, cabinet member for Education and Children's Services, said that the council has been working closely with businesses across Dorset to organise employability schemes for 16-24 year-olds.
Boscombe heart charity pins hopes on Christmas
Almost 80 per cent of the items in the store are second-hand, according to store manager Silvia Pettet. Donations to the British Heart Foundation are made by people who drop off their belongings directly to the store. The organisation also offers pick-up services every two weeks. “We have drivers who are willing to collect donations from people’s houses but lately our vans have been returning with few donations.”
