The Big Bournemouth Beer Festival returns to the BIC on Easter weekend for its fourth year with over 200 brands on offer from across the UK, and may boost local businesses.

The event is a celebratory and educational festival of local and nationally sourced beer and ale. Beer lovers will be treated to a sampling experience, and a tasting guide will explain the methods and ingredients that make each beer unique in flavour. Novelty and seasonal beers are also available alongside a range of cider, perry and wines.

Tia Thorp, market assistant of BHLive, said: “It is a great opportunity for breweries to network and get their products recognised and sampled at this popular event which attracts both customers and businesses nationwide.”

Last year, nearly 3,500 tickets were sold for the weekend. Tia said: “We are hopeful for another great response this year. A variety of musical entertainment ranging from Folk to Latin Reggae will also be featuring over the weekend.”

The festival is expected to bring business to bars and public houses in the local area, as people travel from afar to enjoy the weekend.

But Tia added: “The more mainstream nightclubs may experience a slight increase in trade, however, it is difficult to determine whether this will be influenced by the Beer Festival or because it will be a Bank Holiday weekend.”
