Three poisoned trees in Westcliff Garden should be treated as an act of “criminal intention,” according to a local expert.
Chairman of Bournemouth in Bloom Christopher Colledge says the pines which had herbicide poured into them were a deliberate act to cause environmental damage.
“What we’re talking about is calculated intention of not only getting rid of one tree, but also three trees, by criminal intention and criminal damage,” he said.
The chemical substance glyphosate was allegedly poured into their trunks last summer.
Two of the trees have now died, with the third in poor condition.
