Police have confirmed that they are investigating the rape of a girl on Horseshoe Common in the early hours of this morning.

The alleged victim is being looked after at the Shores, a nearby Sexual Assault Referral Centre.

Part of the area remains cordoned off while forensic teams examine the scene.
