Poole car accident company becomes Hybrid Vehicle Tech pro

A Poole car accident repair company has announced the completion of specialist Porsche Hybrid Vehicle Technology training, making it one of only a few hybrid specialist repair facilities in the UK.

Poole Accident Repair MET Technician Ryszard Kozakiewicz recently completed Hybrid Vehicle Technology (HVT) training for Porsche vehicles at the company, and the announcement was made on 11 March.

Beth Ansell, Accident Repair Marketing Specialist at Poole Accident Repair, said: “Ryszard has already had a chance to put his training into practice and has successfully repaired a Porsche Hybrid at Poole Accident Repair since completing the course.”

This is a significant milestone for Poole Accident Repair and Porsche hybrid owners because while hybrids often have better fuel economy than other vehicles, they also present some unique hazards when it comes to repairing them.

Mr Kozakiewicz said: “Hybrids are not dangerous if you treat them with respect, are aware of the potential shock hazard, and follow the recommended safety procedures when working on them. The key to safe and successful hybrid repairs is to check the hybrid system is operating correctly before beginning to repair the body damage.”

According to Ms Ansell, Poole Accident Repair has invested nearly £300,000 to gain the level of competency required to be a Porsche Centre Approved Body Repairer and obtain the HVT licence.

She said: “Hybrids are becoming ever more popular in the UK and the demand for HVT licensed repairers is growing. The fact that hybrids present some unique safety hazards when it comes to repairing them means it is imperative that appropriate training is implemented.”
