Six men have been taken to safety after police investigating human trafficking raided a garage on Ringwood Road in Bournemouth.
A 23 year old man has been arrested in connection with slavery offences after the raid at the AA Clock Garage on Poole Lane Roundabout.
The suspected male victims are all aged between 20 and 30.
Dorset Police, led by Detective Sergeant Mark Jenkins, carried out the planned raid on the car sales garage at 8am this morning.
Detective Superintendent Kevin Connolly said “Today’s operation is the result of a detailed and protracted inquiry and our primary aim is to protect and safeguard vulnerable victims.
“Human trafficking is a serious offence and Dorset Police remains commited towards tackling such cases.
“Human trafficking, particularly in the form of servitude, is a hidden crime and we will do everything we can to ensure this immoral trade is stopped.”
Nearby business owners said they were unaware of any suspicious activity taking place at the car wash.
The National Crime Agency (NCA) and the Red Cross also assisted as police searched the premises internally and externally.
Environment Civil Enforcement officers arrived on site while our reporter was at the scene.
