Moordown Plus has reopened for medium to high level dementia patients after undergoing a major renovation.
The council has invested £938,000 to transform the facilities at what was formerly known as Malvern Day Centre.
“The new Moordown Centre will support local people and provides a stimulating and supportive environment which offers opportunities for clients and carers to come and participate in a range of activities, enjoy the company of others and benefit from the relaxing and spacious environment.”
Music, military and memories
The centre has been designed to create a safe environment for people suffering with memory loss.
Residents can reminisce in the armed forces room where they can look at badges and photographs or bring back happy memories in the music zone, where they can go back through old records.
Alison Waller, Tricuro’s Managing Director, said: “The new Moordown Centre will support local people and provides a stimulating and supportive environment which offers opportunities for clients and carers to come and participate in a range of activities, enjoy the company of others and benefit from the relaxing and spacious environment.”
