Twin Sails finally set to open

A community weekend to celebrate the first crossing of the newly constructed Twin Sails Bridge will be hosted by Cllr Graham Wilson, Mayor of Poole, next week. The project to build a second bridge to ease the pressure on the existing 85-year-old structure has been under way for more than 30 years. In this time the scheme has suffered many setbacks and has often looked unlikely. This is a history of how the new bridge came into being.
