Universities Minister Sam Gyimah is scheduled to visit Bournemouth university’s campus today to talk to students about their concerns.

The visit is part of his ‘#SamOnCampus’ initiative. He is visiting campuses to allow students to share their thoughts on HE and political issues.

During the appearance, the MP is also going to inaugurate a new academic building and talk to the academics and students about their research.

Sarah Carter, policy and public affairs officer at Bournemouth university said that students have submitted questions they want Gyimah to answer.

“Its a really wide range of topics. Everything from international students, higher education review, welfare issues, mental health and a lot of questions around wider participation, student fees and how things like the proposal through subject level test, differential fees and how that will impact on students and social mobility”, Ms. Carter says.

The event is being hosted by Vice Chancellor John Vinney and Daniel Asaya, president of the student union.

Mr. Asaya said: “Its a good chance for the students not only interact with such an important figure, but also ask any questions on big issues that affect students.”
